Puppy Training Group Class

Jumpstart your puppy’s training!

Dogs Abound’s Puppy Training Group Class is an excellent way to learn the basics of dog training to help you and your puppy get set up for a lifetime of success. Learn with other puppy owners weekly for 4 weeks. Each class covers a different puppy fundamentals topic.

WEEKLY TOPICS & SKILLS COVERED:

• Engagement and recall

  • Paying attention and making eye contact with you

  • Coming when called, even when distractions are present

• Settling

  • Crate training - learning to relax in a crate

  • Mat work - learning to relax on a bed or mat

  • Holding sit/down for longer periods of time (increasing the duration of “sit” or “down”)

• Walking

  • “Loose leash” skills - learning not to pull

  • Walk backwards and u-turns while on leash

  • Learning “go sniff” or “go visit” to be used appropriately on walks

• Handling

  • Putting on a collar and leash calmly

  • Nails & brushing manners and skills

  • Appropriate behavior at the vet

Group classes are held on Sundays at 10 AM and the next session starts 2/6/22.

Small class sizes; MASKS REQUIRED

Puppies must be under 5 months old as of 1/9/22 to participate.
